Thrane & Thrane has launched three new VHFs in the new Sailor 6200 VHF series:
• 406210A - SAILOR 6210 VHF
• 406215A - SAILOR 6215 VHF DSC Class D
• 406216A - SAILOR 6216 VHF DSC Class D - FCC
The Sailor 6200 VHF will replace the old RT480X, better known as Sailor A1. The Sailor 6200 VHF series is powerful VHFs that provide all the features required from professional VHF in addition to some unique features:
• SAILOR Replay
• Waterproof to IPx8 and IPx6
• Additional 2 hand microphones can be connected front and rear
• Detachable hand microphones and handsets
• Powerful 8W loudspeaker
• Loud hailer with talk-back and Foghorn functionality
• Intuitive menu in 5 languages
• Easy operation:
> Large display with red backlight
> Large tactile buttons and wheelknobs
AIS Receive functionality
When the SAILOR 6200 VHF series was introduced in January 2009 it was the intention to include AIS Receive functionality in the same way that others have done. After rigorous testing we have found that this functionality will not perform to the standards expected from SAILOR. Due to this it has been decided not to include AIS Recieve functionality in the first products in the SAILOR 6200 VHF series. Instead we are planning to develop two more radios (one especially for North America) that will include a high performance AIS Receive functionality.
Delivery and pricing
