KVH Expands Atlantic Ocean Coverage for mini-VSAT Broadband Service

MIDDLETOWN, RI – In a move designed to expand access to broadband services for commercial and leisure mariners alike, KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq: KVHI) today announced a significant expansion of mini-VSAT Broadbandsm coverage in the Atlantic Ocean. Where service was previously available only in the North Atlantic shipping lanes between Europe and North America, the new coverage area brings broadband Internet and voice service as far north as Greenland and Northern Europe and extends south to support vessels traveling to the Mediterranean, northwestern Africa, and approaching the northern coast of Brazil. This new service area is fully operational now and available to all existing and new mini-VSAT Broadband service users.

Continuing its march toward a seamless global broadband network for vessels and aircraft, KVH Industries, Inc. today announced that it expects mini-VSAT Broadband coverage for the Australia and New Zealand region to go live in August 2009 following the successful completion of service testing on the Intelsat IS-2 satellite. The new coverage area will provide the first significant support for mini-VSAT Broadband service in the southern hemisphere.
